As one of our growing markets, Africa’s ports and operational updates will assist your cargo planning with relevant service information. To the point and no additional fuss, the Africa operational updates are updated regularly on this page and will reach your inbox twice a month.

  • August 28, 2024 - Tanzania: 20' Dry equipment shortage and temporary booking stop for 20' equipment. Bookings might be impacted and shipments could be delayed. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide with updates.
  • Booking process update in connection with the Red Sea situation affecting Djibouti and Sudan. Read more about the booking process for the Middle East 

Vessel updates and port changes per service

Middle East - India - Africa - Express (MIAX)

  • Wadi Bani Khalid will leave the service at Jebel Ali, on August 27. The vessel will omit Mundra, IN as part of its phase out rotation and continue with direct discharge to Hazira IN, Nhava Sheva IN & Colombo LK. Mundra IN imports will be discharged in Jebel Ali AE. There will be no replacement vessel
  • Volans will advance Durban ZA by one week, calling Sept 10 instead of 17. Seaspan Lahore will delay one week Durban ZA by one week, calling Sept 17 instead of Sept 10
  • Volans will leave the service at Jebel Ali, AE on Sept 27. All imports to be discharged in Jebel Ali. There will be no replacement vessel
Asia – West Africa Service (AWA)
  • No updates for this week

East Africa Service 2 (EA2)

  • GH Tramontane will omit Dar Es Salaam, TZ on Sept 16 
  • Yokohama Star will omit Dar Es Salaam, TZ on Oct 7
  • There will be no vessel starting at Nhava Sheva, IN on Oct 30

South Africa Express (SAF also known as SAX)

  • No updates in the current week.

  • 20' Dry equipment shortage at Tanzania
  • South Africa: from March 15, 2024, all  freight, local charges' invoices and pickup instructions will be managed via ODeX. From March 18, 2024 the last date for submission of pickup instructions will be 2 working days before vessel arrival - the pickup instructions' request must be submitted via ODeX.
  • Kenya: starting with vessels sailing on or after July 1, 2024, all exporters must provide the "Export Entry Number" for every container loaded at Mombasa during the Shipping Instructions' submission. This applies to export and transshipment cargo. This process enables the Certificate of Export issuance by the Kenya Revenue Authority.

  • For Dangerous Goods Cargo terminal gate acceptance, please submit electronic copies of the Export Hazardous Declarations to upload in the DG bookings
