New Zealand - Intro

Hapag-Lloyd began regular calls into New Zealand from the 1960’s, as a member of the  New Zealand European Shipping Association (NZESA).

In 1977 Hapag-Lloyd participated in the new ANZECS container service linking Australia, New Zealand and Europe, represented by Seabridge New Zealand as local Continental Anzecs Lines organization. In 1990, our  purpose built Berlin Express entered the service providing increased reefer capacity for the New Zealand trade.

Hapag-Lloyd’s commitment to the  New Zealand trade has grown steadily over the years, through the acquisition of CP ships in 2006 and the continued participation of service agreements with our partner lines.

Our wider Hapag-Lloyd network has enabled us to reach beyond the service offerings of many of our competitors and  currently supports efficient, direct and indirect cargo delivery on a global scale.

Located in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore, Hapag-Lloyd has been represented in New Zealand with own offices since 1995.

We thank you for your ongoing support and we will continue striving for excellence in service to meet your shipping and logistics needs also in future. If you have not used us before, please call your nearest Hapag-Lloyd office to find out what difference Hapag-Lloyd can make to your business.
