Dear Customer,
We would like to inform you
about an important change in our release process in German ports,
effective from January 15th, 2025. In line with our commitment to enhance security and
prevent drug-related crime, Hapag-Lloyd has decided to stop generating PINs for
releases in German ports. This decision aims to protect our employees and
strengthen security measures.
What does this mean for you?
Starting from the above-mentioned date, release documents issued by Hapag-Lloyd will no longer
include a PIN. The generation and transmission of the PIN will instead be
handled by a third party, either DAKOSY Datenkommunikationssystem AG or dbh
Logistics IT AG. For you as a customer, not much will change in your daily
operations.
What is GermanPorts and what is this interim solution?
German Ports is a
collaborative initiative between DAKOSY Datenkommunikationssystem AG and dbh
Logistics IT AG. While the release order process is transitioning to become
entirely PIN-free, an interim solution involving the temporary use of a PIN has
been introduced. This service is provided through the EDI system. The PIN
associated with commercial releases, generated by the shipping line, is
securely distributed via the EDI service to both the Terminal and the Initial
Release Party (IRP). The IRP then has the option to forward the PIN to the next
subcontractor, as is currently the case.
What are the next steps you have to take?
To ensure a smooth transition, we kindly ask you to provide your details using the link below.
The following information is required:

Upon the release of a shipment to the consignee or the consignee's authorized party,
you will continue to receive the release document from Hapag-Lloyd as usual.
However, this document will no longer include a PIN. Shortly thereafter, the PIN will be
sent directly to the registered email address.
Please note that after the implementation of the new process,
Hapag-Lloyd will no longer be able to generate any PINs.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this transition. Should you have any questions
or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our customer
service team.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.
Sincerely,
You have two options when providing a mail address for the receival of the PIN:
