Ivory Coast, also known as Côte d'Ivoire, is a country on the southern coast of west Africa.
Cote D’Ivoire is a republic with strong executive power vested in its president. In 2021, Cote D’Ivoire was the world’s largest exporter of cocoa beans and plays a key role in transit trade for neighbouring, hinterland countries such as Mali, Burkina etc.
It borders Guinea to the northwest, Liberia to the west, Mali to the northwest, Burkina Faso to the northeast, Ghana to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) to the south. The political capital is Yamoussoukro, in the centre of the country; while its largest city and economic capital is the city of Abidjan. Considered as one of the largest, most modern, and equipped port of West Africa, Abidjan port is located on a lagoon and connected to sea by a buoyed channel (2.8km) length and 13.0 m depth at Longitude: 4°00.

In recent years, Cote d’Ivoire has been subjected to greater competition and falling prices in the global marketplace for its primary crops: coffee and cocoa.
Its official language is French, and indigenous languages are also widely used, including Bété, Baoulé, Dyula, Dan, Anyin, and Cebaara Senufo. In total, there are around 78 different languages spoken in Ivory Coast. The country has a religiously diverse population, including numerous followers of Christianity, Islam, and indigenous faiths.

The country has been the host of several major African sporting events, with the most recent being the 2013 African Basketball and the oncoming Africa cup of Nations 2023 which will held in January 2024 in Abidjan.
Ivory coast is known worldwide thanks to some famous names such as Didier Drogba (Football), Marie Josee Talou (Athletism), Olivia Yace (miss World Africa) Cheick Cissé and Ruth Gbagbi (Taekwondo)
Traditional and popular food, widely used in many dishes is Attieke, made with grated cassava. Common street food is Allocco, which is plantain fried in palm oil.
Country has a huge tourism potential through the beaches, diversity colourful cultures and historic buildings (the largest basilica in the world in Yamoussoukro/ Guinness world record), that preserved its charm and authenticity.
