UN Number

United Nations number assigned to Dangerous Goods by the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UN List).

IMO Class

Class or division – contains the class and, in the case of class 1, the division and the compatibility group assigned to the substance or article according to the classification system. Note: Some Dangerous Goods have subsidiary hazard(s) – enter the class number(s) of any subsidiary hazard(s), which have been identified by applying the classification system.

Packing Group

Enter the packing group number (i.e. I, II or III) where assigned to the substance or article.

Proper Shipping Name (PSN)

Proper Shipping Name, which may have to be followed by additional descriptive text. Note: Some UN numbers have more than one Proper Shipping Name option assigned, please make sure to insert the correct one.

Technical Name

Proper Shipping Names that are assigned to special provisions 274 or 318 in the Dangerous Goods List shall be supplemented with their technical or chemical group names as described in 3.1.2.8 IMDG Code.

Net Weight

The net weight of Dangerous Goods is an important information, because it is the raw material weight.

Flash Point

For Dangerous goods with a flashpoint of 60°C or below (in °C closed-cup (c.c.)) the minimum flashpoint shall be indicated. Because of the presence of impurities, the flashpoint may be lower or higher than the reference temperature indicated in the Dangerous Goods List for the substance.

Segregation Group

For the purpose of segregation, dangerous goods having certain similar chemical properties have been grouped together in segregation groups. Not all substances, mixtures, solutions or preparations falling within a segregation group are listed in the IMDG Code by name. These are shipped under N.O.S. entries. The consignor shall decide whether inclusion under the segregation group is appropriate.

Limited Quantity

Dangerous Goods packed in Limited Quantities in compliance with 3.4 IMDG Code.

Marine Pollutant

Marine pollutants means substances which are subject to the provisions of Annex III of MARPOL, as amended.

Note: For generic (N.O.S.) entries Proper Shipping Name shall be supplemented with the recognized chemical name of the marine pollutant.

Outer & Inner Packing

According to general provisions of 4.1 IMDG Code for the packing of Dangerous Goods in packaging, including IBCs and large packaging.
